PAUL HAMPARTSOUMIAN
Paul H first fired his Canon in 1988 while studying GCSE photography at Richmond College. A few years later he emerged as a music photographer working for independent jungle record label, SOUR.
1995 saw his first published image of Craig Mack in the UK's number 1 Hip-Hop magazine - Hip-Hop Connection. Continuing with the same publication he quickly progressed shooting his first front cover of a newly signed Foxy Brown in 1996 and going on to become the magazine's principle photographer.
A prolific work rate made him a ubiquitous face in hiphop clubs and concerts across London and beyond while his catalogue expanded as his camera captured the images of virtually every major International and UK hiphop artist.
Following the demise of HHC in 2009, Paul's work broadened across the music industry as he became a go-to music photographer for all the major record labels. Additionally, he developed a strong corporate clientele including a series of Mastercard Priceless gigs with artists including Pharrell Williams, Kylie Minogue, and The Kaiser Chiefs.
He has worked as the official photographer for Jay-Z and Beyonce at the Royal Albert Hall, Charity Balls for Alicia Keys, and a perfume launch for Mariah Carey. His work has appeared in every national newspaper including a cover for The Times Saturday magazine featuring Will Smith and his image of Naomie Harris made the front page of the Daily Telegraph during lockdown.
Paul has worked with the broadest range of people imaginable from Abba to King Charles III with the FBI's most wanted Crypto Queen, Ruja Ignatova in between. But he still feels most at home when working with hiphop royalty.
